Cover Reveal: Mortal Gods by Kendare Blake with a giveaway!

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be showing you guys the cover of Mortal Gods by Kendare Blake, who just so happens to me one of my top 5 favorite authors! I adore her and her books, I simply cannot wait to get my hands on Mortal Gods! If you haven't read Antigoddess yet, do it. Drop whatever it is you are doing and go get it and read it and love it and never let it go ever. Now let's show this cover!

So what do you guys think? I have mixed feelings about it. While I do think it looks really cool and the design is just amazing, including the font for the title, it's kind of bittersweet. The original cover, which is on the hardcover, of Antigoddess is personally one of my favorite covers of books because it's dark, it's beauiful, and mysterious. All the things that totally go with who Kendare is with her books! It was flawless, so when I saw that they changed the covers for the paperbacks I was heartbroken because I would have loved to see them continue the series with covers similar to that of the original for Antigoddess! Here's the new one:

I still think it's amazing, gothic, and totally fits the storyline, I just feel like now the series has lost some of that breathtakingly mysterious darkness that the original cover brought. While these covers are great, I just didn't see why they had to change the cover in the first place when it was beautiful before. That's just me, though!

I'm also a little bummed that they changed the title from Aristeia to Mortal Gods. Again, the new title totally fits with the story, but Aristeia sounds much more beautiful and captivating. Why must people go and change things that never needed to be changed?! It angers me! Even if the result of said change is still good!


Okay, I'm so sorry for my big long rant there. Didn't mean to do that. To make up for it (not really) I'm doing a giveaway! A spur of the moment giveaway! Woo!     Actually I really like the cover for Mortal Gods but prefer the old cover for Anti Goddess.

    Hi, Kayla! :D I haven't read any of her books yet, but I do own Anna Dressed in Blood! The covers for her books always come out looking really cool! Especially when they're dark, which is why I don't really like the cover for Mortal Gods. It's too bright (not bright, but you know what I mean). I do like the new cover for Antigoddess though! And for the record, Aristeia sounds so much cooler than Mortal Gods. :)

    I like this cover well enough, but I loved the original Antigoddess cover and I wish they would have stuck with that theme!

    I wasn't 100% sold on the Antigoddess PB cover change but it's really grown on me,..and I'm pleased with this one as well. I love Kendare so much too :-)

    Unpopular opinion here I think but I actually LOVE the new cover for Antigoddess... the original was excellent but the new one is a little more eyecatching.
